Po-Zu, a London-based award-winning ethical and sustainable footwear brand, is currently recruiting for a Brand/Communications Manager; a key role within the Po-Zu structure, working with the founder to manage all aspects of communication for the brand. The main functions are creating the marketing strategy and then managing it from 'brief' to successful execution. This role must provide an impactful presence and remain consistent to our Po-Zu brand values while maximising our business opportunities.


Po-Zu is a small company with big ambitions. 2015 has been a year of transformation. A root and branch strategic review of its business and direction has seen it embark on an exciting new journey which has included a crowd-funding based capitalisation programme, and the appointment of an exceptional team of advisors including the Style Director of Marie Claire; Lisa Oxenham, and the former International Commercial Director of Timberland; Richard O’Rourke. Po-Zu has recently signed a major licensing agreement which will significantly grow and expand the company’s operations internationally.


  • Work with the founder and marketing advisor to prepare the briefs for agencies and press announcements consistent with the strategies for building the Po-Zu brand.
  • Manage relations and communications with agencies and third party suppliers of marketing materials.
  • Manage the process for sign-off and agreement with our Licence partner for marketing. Monitor the execution to ensure compliance and consistency.
  • Maximise the opportunities in both digital advertising and through social channels, within the pre-agreed budgets.
  • Manage PR whether direct or via an agency.
  • Prepare for and attend key customer meetings and trade shows as required.


  • Understanding of how to get from brief to page or post - this is not a theoretical role but a practical 'make it happen' position.
  • Practical understanding of digital advertising, optimisation.
  • Management of social channels and experience in creating content (or getting it created- and evaluating its quality).
  • Detailed understanding of the current integrated media environment - including digital and social media.
  • Knowledge of PR and how to make it work.
  • Knowledge of events and trade shows etc. would be helpful.
  • Knowledge of the shoe or fashion industry is a bonus but not essential.
  • Good project management - there will be several work streams running simultaneously and the candidate would need to be able to swap hats quickly.
  • Disciplined in terms of measurement and metrics - tracking success and learning from failure.
  • Ability to take a step back and see the big picture.

You may have been:

  • A marketing, brand or comms manager for a smaller fashion brand.
  • An account director or business director for a marketing agency (integrated).
  • A project manager from a marketing agency.
  • A marketing consultant (mid level) with recent practical knowledge of implementing campaigns.

You are unlikely to have been:

  • A big company marketing manager.


The position is full time, based in the Po-Zu Head Office in London.

Depending on experience, a starting salary between £35k - £40k
